The following CBD Dosing Guide has recommendations strictly aimed to help you ease into using CBD products. These recommendations do not constitute legal advice. We are providing context and recommendations for how to safely use our CBD products. CBD promotes relaxation, so the most common side effect is tiredness. CBD and other cannabinoids interact with some medications. Nurse Cannabis recommends consulting a doctor before trying any products always but especially if you are currently taking medications or have preexisting conditions. We do our best to ensure the safety and efficacy of our products. Most products contain their own dosing recommendations, but we recommend using the following protocol, especially if you have never used CBD before. Cannabis products and CBD will affect people differently; it is ultimately up to you to find the right dose. When trying new products, we recommend trying small amounts at a time, often less than the recommended dose on the packaging. Nurse CBD does not recommend trying multiple new products at once.
When to take CBD according to our CBD Dosing Guide:
1. Ingestible CBD products are almost always more effective when taken after a meal that is high in fat. CBD and other cannabinoids are fat soluble. It is easier for our body to digest and process CBD and other cannabinoids when it is already digesting fats.
2. CBD may make you tired or drowsy. We always recommend trying products for the first time at night in case it does make you tired. If it does not make you tired or you are comfortable with the effects, you may take it whenever you want throughout the day.
3. Almost all CBD products are most effective when used daily. Many people will not notice the effects the first couple of times using products (mainly oil tinctures). Continued, consistent use will help to reduce general inflammation, stress, and pain. This is especially true for oil tinctures.
CBD Dosing Guide on Tinctures: Use a dropper to put oil under your tongue. Hold the oil under your tongue for 1-2 minutes, then swallow. This helps with absorption.
1. Nurse Cannabis Full Spectrum CBD Oil (use daily for best results)
a. Best used after a meal that is high in fat. This helps with absorption.
b. First 2 days take .5ml at night. CBD makes some people tired. Take the first couple of doses at night when you have no obligations left in the day.
c. After 2 days if you feel like it does not make you tired or drowsy, you may take the .5ml during the day. It is not necessary to switch to the daytime. You can continue to take it at night indefinitely if you choose.
d. Continue to take .5ml for the first 7 days of use.
e. If necessary, move up to 1ml every day for at least 2 weeks. Can take 1ml all at once or split it between morning and night.
f. 1ml is the dose recommended on the bottle. This should be sufficient to see results over time. The oil will take time to build up in your system (up to 30 days). It is normal to not notice any benefits until you have been taking it consistently for 3 or 4 weeks.
g. It is possible that you need more than 1ml per day. That is okay and you are welcome to take more at your own discretion. If you need more than 1ml per day, it is more cost-effective to move to the stronger tincture.
2. Nurse CBD 1500mg Full Spectrum Oil (use daily for best results according to our CBD Dosing Guide)
a. First 2 days take .25ml at night. CBD makes some people tired. Take the first couple of doses at night when you have no obligations left in the day.
b. After 2 days if you feel like it does not make you tired or drowsy, you may take the .25ml during the day. It is not necessary to switch to the daytime. You can continue to take it at night indefinitely.
c. Continue to take .25ml for the first 7 days of use.
d. If necessary, move up to .5ml every day for at least 2 weeks. Can take .5ml all at once or split it between morning and night.
e. This .5ml is the recommended dose for the 750mg tincture. You may take this dose indefinitely or move up if necessary. If you used the 750mg tincture already and moved up to this 1500mg tincture, start out at .5ml or whatever is equal to the dose you used for the 750mg tincture.
f. 1ml is the dose recommended on the bottle for this 1500mg tincture. This should typically be a sufficient dose for an average person. Larger people and people with more severe conditions or pain may need more than 1ml.
g. It is possible that you need more than 1ml per day. That is okay and you are welcome to take more at your own discretion. If you need more than 1ml per day, it is more cost-effective to move to the stronger tincture.
3. Nurse CBD 3000mg Full Spectrum CBD Oil (use daily for best results according to our CBD Dosing Guide)
a. If you are using this product, it likely means that you have tried the 750mg and/or 1500mg strength tinctures and need a higher dose. If you have never used CBD before, you may want to try a 750mg or a 1500mg tincture first unless your condition is severe.
b. If moving up from a 1500mg tincture, start with .5ml. This is equivalent to 1ml of the 1500mg tincture.
c. At this point you should have a decent understanding of how CBD works with your body. You may use this how you see fit, however, we still recommend starting smaller and building up as needed.
d. If you are new to CBD but have a more severe condition, this tincture may suit you best. We recommend following the same protocol as with the Nurse CBD 1500mg Full Spectrum Oil tincture. Just keep in mind that this is twice as strong. You are more likely to feel tired from this. Please be responsible and make sure you understand how it works in your body before using it in the daytime.
e. Remember that the oil will build up in your system, so as you use it consistently, you will likely see better results.
4. Country Roads 750mg Full Spectrum Oil Mellow (use daily for best results)
a. This is specifically formulated for nighttime. Follow the same procedure as the Soothe 750mg Full spectrum Oil, but do not transition to daytime use. This will likely make you feel more tired than other oil tinctures. You may use it during the daytime if you wish, but it is meant more for nighttime.
5. Country Roads 750mg Full Spectrum Oil Clarity (use daily for best results)
a. This is specifically formulated for daytime. It is less likely to make you tired, but for the first try, it may still be best to try it in the evening. Follow the same procedure as the Nurse CBD 750mg Full Spectrum Oil.
6. Country Roads 1500mg Full Spectrum Oil Mellow (use daily for best results)
a. This is specifically formulated for nighttime. Follow the same procedure as the Nurse CBD 1500mg Full spectrum Oil, but do not transition to daytime use. This will likely make you feel more tired than other oil tinctures. You may use it during the daytime if you wish, but it is meant more for nighttime.
7. Country Roads 1500mg Full Spectrum Oil Clarity (use daily for best results)
a. This is specifically formulated for daytime. It is less likely to make you tired, but we still recommend starting in the evening. Follow the same procedure as the Nurse CBD 1500mg Full Spectrum Oil.
CBD Gummies Dosing Guide
1. Enjoy CBD Gummies
a. 1 gummy is the recommended dose. Try it at night the first time.
b. Chew the gummy completely in your mouth for the fastest absorption.
c. You may use it during the day if you are comfortable with the effects.
3. Soothe Chill CBD + CBG Gummies (use daily for best results)
a. 1 gummy is the recommended dose. Use it at night the first two times.
b. Chew the gummy completely in your mouth for the fastest absorption.
c. You may use it during the day if you are comfortable with it.
e. If necessary, you may take more than one at one time, but start with one to understand what it does for you.
4. Soothe Broad Spectrum Nano Gummies (use as needed)
a. This is a fast-acting product to be used as needed.
b. 1 gummy is the recommended dose. Use at night for the first time or 2.
c. Chew completely in your mouth for the fastest results. The gummy will practically dissolve in your mouth as you chew it.
d. You may use it during the day if you are comfortable with it.
e. You may take more than one gummy if necessary. Try one first, but you may need more. Taking more gummies will increase the chances of feeling tired or drowsy.
5. Soothe Snooze CBD + CBN Gummies (use nightly for best results)
a. This is similar to the Soothe Chill CBD + CBG Gummies, except these are meant for sleep as CBN is a cannabinoid used as a sleep aid
b. CBN will likely trigger a false positive on a drug test looking for THC.
c. 1 gummy in the evening about 1 hour before going to sleep is the recommended dose. This will likely make you tired and drowsy as it is meant to be a sleep aid.
6. CBD Gummies with Melatonin (use as needed to aid sleep)
a. This product has melatonin as well as CBD to promote sleep.
b. Take one gummy 1-2 hours before you wish to go to sleep. Some people may need more or less time to feel the effects as it is an edible product that depends on your metabolism. Chewing completely and holding the gummy under your tongue may help it kick in faster as some of the CBD and melatonin will be absorbed sublingually.
c. You may take more than one if necessary, however, most people do not need more than 2.
d. Taking too many will likely cause you to be drowsy the next day, mainly because of the melatonin.
